Are you an Automated Data Equipment Custodian and wondering what you are supposed to do to prepare for BRAC? BRAC is quickly approaching, so we put together a few tips to help you get ready for the transition. First, determine what’s going to happen to your mission. Is it going away completely? If so, you need to close your account prior to deactivation, start transferring your items to another account or prepare them for DRMO. If not, will the Army or the 440th Airlift Wing be taking over your area? In this case, transfer your equipment to them, but you need to start soon since it is a lengthy process. If it is the 440th AW, let us know and we’ll put you in contact with their Equipment Control Officer. The 43CS ADPE office is gearing up with the 440th AW to start the process of moving over our remaining unit accounts. This process isn’t going to happen overnight and requires a lot of planning and preparation to ensure a smooth hand off. All accounts holders must contact our office prior to this transition to discuss how the change will affect them and any issues unique to your unit. If you have any questions, call 394-4922 or 394-4918. (Information provided by the BRAC office.)
